 MBTI®

 MYERS -BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR

If only we could know a book by its cover or people by their faces! Whether we’re searching for romance, a more fulfilling career, or deeper communication with the people in our life, understanding our own patterns and preferences is the first step....The result of using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® helps participants and company teams to work better together.  Certified MBTI® Practitioners are especially qualified to show you many ways to fully utilize the instrument.

The Myers-Briggs tool is a measure of Jung's theory of personality styles and is an invaluable aid to learning to work with others in an organization or on a team.  It is the most widely used personality inventory in the world, and the MBTI® instrument provides an accurate picture of personality type by assessing preferences on four scales:

Ø      Where people prefer to focus their attention and get their energy—from the outer world of people and activity or their inner world of ideas and experiences

Ø      How people prefer to take in information—focused on what is real and actual or on patterns and meanings in data

Ø      How people prefer to make decisions—based on logical analysis or guided by concern for their impact on others

Ø      How people prefer to deal with the outer world—in a planned orderly way, or in a flexible spontaneous way.

Combinations of these preferences result in 16 distinct personality types. Understanding characteristics unique to each personality type provides insight on how they influence an individual’s way of communicating and interacting with others.

The MBTI® instrument has a wide range of applications that promote personal and professional growth and development. These applications include executive development, leadership & coaching, organizational development, team development, career management, conflict resolution, retention, culture and diversity, and working relationships. The instrument can be used in a variety of settings including business, coaching, counseling and education.
